The corridors of Cowan House still resonate with the values instilled by the school’s founding principal – echoing a sense of fun, curiosity and discovery.  It is our responsibility to help boys and girls develop a real love of learning.

In a world which is becoming increasingly more complex and superficial, where inspiration is becoming more theoretical and learning is often sterile from an early age, we are tremendously proud of the healthy balance we enjoy at Cowan House. We know that each child is a unique individual, not an academic statistic but a young person bursting with potential and deserving the best possible opportunities. By attending Cowan House, boys and girls will encounter many opportunities for personal development during their journey of learning about the world around them and in growing to understand themselves. These opportunities have been carefully planned and designed to form part of the learning process we call childhood. A simple, yet intricately complex process of discipline, challenges, wonder, successes, emotions, expectations, love and appropriate experiences all form the cornerstones of the Cowan House ethos.

Cowan House is an Independent, Co-Educational school nestled on a beautiful 10 hectare campus in the heart of Hilton, Natal Midlands. Our school includes an on site Pre Primary from Grade RRR to Grade R, which offers (amongst a number of other things) a seamless transition to Grade 1 for our boys and girls. We accommodate both day scholars and boarders, and offer casual boarding to those who may need it on occasion.

School fees include a morning snack for all pupils, as well as lunch if required. Aftercare is available daily until 17h30.
