Groundcover was born in the Midlands in 1990 from a passion for leatherwork and a desire to build a meaningful livelihood. Tucked away in a restored settler’s cottage, you will find a range of handcrafted leather footwear, bags, accessories, and Nguni products – all made by skilled artisans, right here on our farm.
Now in the hands of the second generation, the legacy of sustainability, craftmanship and community continues. We source all our materials locally and handcraft everything in our solar-powered factory. We dedicate 10% of revenue to staff wellfare, while sustaining more than 30 jobs and supporting the education of over 50 children.
