Millgate Midlands Retreat

Set in the scenic Midlands countryside, surrounded by attractive gardens, Millgate Cottage offers comfortable fully equipped self-catering accommodation. With five diverse units we can accommodate couples to larger families, ranging from family cottages to smaller, colourful suites and pets are allowed on request. Millgate is an ideal setting for guests seeking to get away from it all, scenic walks, ample birdlife and other wildlife abound. With close proximity to a number of well-known wedding venues and the Michealhouse School, Millgate offers ample accommodation for guests and family.

Also close by are a variety of eateries, cheese makers, breweries, nurseries and crafters. Horse riding facilities are also available within easy reach.

Shazorro is our cozy onsite bistro and bakery, German cuisine is the theme and our menu ranges from burgers to eisbeins, all-day breakfasts and freshly baked Danish pastries and breads. Shazorro is open from Wednesdays through to Sundays.

A 9 hole putt course winding through our garden is available to guests and visitors.

Strange Days is our craft shop and gallery featuring locally crafted recycled glass slumpware, local arts and crafts, curios, books, records and Cds.

We have a swimming pool available for guests, it is a pet project in the making utilising a natural chemical free method using water plants to filter and maintain the pool with a natural mountain stream environment.

We are in the process of creating a short ramble through our 4 acres, eliminating invader species and creating an indigenous woodland.
