Mount Park Guest Farm & Wedding Venue

Welcome to the beautiful KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Mount Park Guest Farm is situated in the Upper Dargle region of the KZN Midlands, at the foot of the iNhlosane Mountain. We provide affordable, comfortable Midlands Meander accommodation, as well as a range of fun activities for the whole family. Here you will find good old-fashioned hospitality, where wonderful memories can be made with your family and new friends.

The diverse combination of grasslands, indigenous forest and flowing streams provides an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The 120-hectare working farm has close to 30 hectares of natural forest. There is a fantastic variety of birdlife and mammals. You may be lucky enough to hear the very rare Tree Hyrax, with its distinctive cry, on a warm night.

We also have a variety of activities available for the whole family, from fishing and canoeing on our small dam on the garden’s edge, to our animal farm, horse rides and many outdoor and indoor games.

There are seven hiking trails marked out on the farm. These range from Easy to Advanced, and meander up through the indigenous forests, past trickling waterfalls and even up to the top of the iNhlosane mountain boasting spectacular views over the Midlands and to the Drakensberg Mountain Ranges.

Meals and beverages are served in the onsite Bull and Speir restaurant for all guests and day hikers. We also have a selection of frozen pre-cooked meals, treats and some necessities for purchase at our reception shop. This can also be booked for small functions.

Many brides and grooms have chosen Mount Park Guest Farm as their wedding venue. Our rustic “Barn under the iNhlosane” is also one of the most reasonable and affordable wedding venues in the Midlands seating up to 120 Guests and they make use of our 180 Year Old Oak Tree for their ceremony.

We are also the home to THAKAZELA HORSE TRAILS which ranges from pony rides and activities to scenic outrides under the mountain range and through our natural forests and streams. Helen is passionate about matching riders to appropriate horses, that will make you feel at home in the saddle of a good companion. Her scope stretches from patiently working with first timers/very nervous rides up to competent and regular riders.

We also offer a small Wellness and Beauty Spa for both our guests and day-visitors. Janis can treat you to various massages, beauty treatments and waxing and including gents haircuts and beard shaves & trims.

Please note that Mount Park Guest Farm provides tranquil and peaceful Midlands Meander accommodation, and no music and unruly behavior is allowed unless a group booking has booked out the entire resort for a livelier party.
